Larp Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Larp AI ("we", "us"), a Dowlen product, collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built Larp AI to do as much as possible on your own machine, and this policy reflects that.
The short version
- Your voice and camera feed are processed locally. The real-time voice changer, soundboard, camera studio, face swap and face morph run on your computer. Your live feed is never sent to us.
- Cloud AI features are opt-in and clearly labeled. A few features (for example ElevenLabs text-to-speech and AI voice cloning) send the text or audio you choose to a third-party provider to generate a result. They're marked in the app, so you always know when something leaves your device.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't run third-party ad tracking. The site uses one first-party cookie for anonymous visit counts, and only if you allow it.
Information we collect
- Email address. When you redeem a code, buy a plan, or join a waitlist, we store the email you give us so we can send your license key, receipts, and important product notices (and launch/product news for the waitlist, which you can leave any time).
- Purchase and license records. Stripe handles your payment; we receive the plan you bought, the amount, the email, and a Stripe customer/session ID — never your full card number. We keep a record of each license key we issue, the email it belongs to, and the redemptions of free codes, so we can support you and stop abuse.
- License checks. When you activate a key, the app contacts larpai.net to confirm it's valid. That request includes the key and a non-identifying device identifier so a key can't be shared without limit.
- Site analytics. If you accept the cookie banner, we count page visits with a first-party cookie. There is no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, and nothing follows you to other sites.
- Diagnostics. The app may keep error logs on your own machine to help fix problems. They stay there unless you choose to send them to us.
- Content you send to optional cloud features. When you use a labeled cloud AI feature, the specific input you provide (the text you type for TTS, or a voice sample for cloning) is sent to that feature's provider to return a result.
How your media is handled
Core voice and camera processing happens on your device. Larp AI outputs a virtual microphone and a virtual camera that other apps (OBS, Discord, Zoom, TikTok Live Studio and similar) can read; that routing happens locally on your computer, not through our servers.
Face and voice data. The face and voice data used for swapping and cloning is processed on your device to run the effect. We do not collect it, sell it, or store it on our servers, and we never use it as a biometric identifier. Source photos and voice samples you add stay in the app's local files on your PC until you delete them. If you use a cloud AI feature (such as ElevenLabs voice cloning), the sample you submit is handled under that provider's policy.
Third-party services
We use Stripe to process payments, Resend to email license keys and receipts, Netlify to host the site and store license and code records, and, for optional features you turn on, ElevenLabs for text-to-speech and voice cloning. Each processes only the data needed for its job under its own privacy policy.
Responsible use
Face swap and voice cloning are powerful. You may only swap or clone faces and voices that you own or have explicit permission to use — no impersonating real people without consent, and no deceptive, harassing or sexual content using someone's likeness. Our Terms of Service spell this out.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use your voice, face, recordings or streams to train models.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the site or in the app.
Your choices & rights
You can unsubscribe from product emails at any time using the link in the email. You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@larpai.net from the address on your license; we'll answer within 30 days. Deleting your email record will also deactivate any license tied to it. You can decline the analytics cookie on the site, and you can delete the app's local data by uninstalling it.
Children
Larp AI is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Data retention & security
We keep license and purchase records for as long as your license is valid and as long as the law requires us to keep transaction records. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Data is stored with our hosting provider in the United States and protected with industry-standard measures; no system is perfectly secure, so please keep your license key private.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes and, for material changes, give notice on the site or by email.
